New Mood Board: Living Room Design

I've been working on lots of new ventures and I've been doing my darnedest to make my aspirations a reality.  I was asked to show a mood board for a potential opportunity (so vague I know) recently.  I already had some that I'd made, like the kitchen, but I also wanted to do something new and fresh for the future.  So, I put together an inspiration mood board for a fantasy living room with no budget.  The items in it range from lower-priced Etsy items that have been on my favorites forever to super expensive items from Horchow.  The wall color was inspired by my love (obsession?) for Emily Henderson's design for the Fig House.

Travel Tuesday: Packing tips

As I mentioned in my last Travel Tuesday post, my study abroad trip to England was my second trip overseas and my first as an "adult"(as much as you can be as a college student).  It was a life-changing experience and I LOVED it.

Before I could fly there though, I had to pack, of course.

St Patrick's Day Wedding Inspiration

Now that Valentine's Day is over, the next big holiday is St Patrick's Day, one of my favorites!  Lots of green, Irish pride, and not a lot of religious traditions for consumerism to trample.  So in honor of St Patrick's Day, I put together some green (and white) wedding inspiration!

All images via Pinterest, check out my St Patrick's Day Pinterest Board for original sources

I think around St Patrick's Day would be a great time for a wedding!

Happy Valentine's Day 2015!

Happy Valentine's Day!  (I still can't believe it's 2015....)  I hope you get to spend the day with someone you love or better yet, spend it spreading the love around to someone who really needs some compassion and a friendly face.

I don't do much for Valentine's Day usually, but I guess I've been in the mood lately, since I've been sharing lots of Valentine's style inspiration for the past few months!

There has been inspiration for a pink and red Valentine's Day wedding (or even party)...

Travel Tuesday: England

My blog is all about design for weddings and home, but I've noticed that my love of travel is sneaking in a lot and I think I'm going to embrace it.  After all, I think world influences and all my pictures of architecture can be sort of relevant!  So with that being said, I'm starting Travel Tuesday.  It's going to give me a good excuse to go through my travel photos and write about some of the highlights of my travel experiences, including some great tips for traveling on a budget.

Updated Kitchen Room Mood Board

As I've talked about before, my kitchen was all yellow (well, just about the whole house was a yellow nightmare, but I digress) when I bought my house.  I painted the icky walls white so that at least I could stand to be in there, but it hasn't gotten a lot of other love yet.   Hopefully soon.  Anyway, I did a little tweaking to my mood board for it by adding in some accessories, changing the cabinets to all dark grey (I'd originally had the uppers white and the lowers grey), and showing the tile wall with open shelving that I'd like to do on the stove wall.

Yay updates!

My craft room/work space

I have to admit, I can get jealous sometimes when I'm reading design blogs with huge readerships and I look at some room makeover and think, I could totally have done that if I had more money for accessories, new furniture, project materials, the list goes on. I'm usually operating on a non-existant to tiny budget, so a lot of times, if I don't already have it or I can't make it for a few bucks, it's not happening.  Necessity is the mother of invention though and my blog IS about design on a budget, so haha yeah...

My craft room was definitely one of those low budget projects.  I'd been meaning to get it organized and usable for awhile, but when Scout Mob asked for some photos of my workspace, it gave me a good reason to get it done ASAP.  I actually had about $100 to do the whole thing (thanks Mom!), but considering the scope of work that needed to be done, it was tight. I have a small sun porch off my living room that serves as my guest room/craft room.    There are windows on 3 sides of the room and in the summer that room gets SO. MUCH. SUN.  And thanks to the fact that I live in Florida, we're talking scorching rays, making the room pretty much unusable.
